Controversy over the selection of former Federal Member Warren Snowdon defeating Trish Crossin raised issues of gender equity. NLC Chairman Galarrwuy Yunupingu declared Parliament was no place for a woman. Also ongoing issues around Euthanasia and the workability of the legislation.
