Correspondence PM Morrison to Shane Stone CEO NQLIRA

23 October 2019

Shane Stone was appointed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison to oversee the recovery of North and North West Queensland in the aftermath of the January 2019 monsoonal event. Styled as the Chairman and CEO of the North Queensland Livestock Industry Recovery Agency he set about the task of establishing the Agency with the Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet. As the responsible and accountable officer, Shane Stone was charged with writing and approving a Corporate Plan and ultimately an Annual Report. As time went by Shane Stone delivered to every member of the Commonwealth Parliament and heads of government across all jurisdictions the corporate plan and the Annual Report, a practice he has kept up as his responsibilities have grown and expanded to the Coordinator-General of the National  Recovery & Resilience Agency. The Prime Minister the Hon Scott Morrison MP wrote to the Hon Shane L Stone AC QC recording his appreciation for the work done by NQLIRA. He made a handwritten note at the bottom of his letter ''ps. You guys are setting the standard''.
