Heavy rainfall led to overflowing catchments across South West QLD, Central West NSW, and Victoria. As Coordinator General of the Commonwealth National Recovery & Resilience Agency, Shane Stone visited flood-impacted communities over a 5 day period accompanied by local Recovery and Support Officers to gauge the damage and formulate advice to the Prime Minister the Hon Scott Morrison MP who had inspected the same areas the week previously. Federal Member for Riverina the Hon Michael McCormack MP (former leader of the Federal National Party and Deputy Prime Minister), and the Coordinator-General of the National Recovery & Resilience Agency at Forbes, NSW following meetings with the local council, farmers and small business people, and inspecting flood-impacted areas.
