Shane and Josephine Stone photographed in Paris at the International Democratic Union meeting. In the history of the IDU, four Australians have filled leadership roles. The Hon Andrew Peacock MP was one of the founders of the IDU in London in 1983 and leader of the Australian delegation, the Hon John Howard OM AC, Chairman, the Hon Shane Stone AC QC, Assistant Chairman, and Brian Loughnane AO Assistant and subsequently Deputy Chairman. Josephine was an active participant in the International Women's Democratic Union (IWDU) serving as Vice President of the IWDU Asia Pacific chapter. During her involvement, Josephine also spoke at various international forums as a guest presenter.
