Recorded election victories where overwhelming majorities were achieved by political parties. Features the Northern Territory 1997 general election result. The 1997 General Election result represented a high watermark for the CLP in NT politics on a percentage basis as distinct from the number of seats won - those records belong to Goff Letts and Paul Everingham. The CLP received 54.7 percent of the first preference vote, an increase of 2.8 percent on the 1994 election result. Territory Labor’s vote was down by 2.9 percent to 38.5 percent. In two party preferred terms support for the CLP increased 1.6 percent to 57.9 percent.
