Shane Stone employed as a Clerk, Bank of New South Wales (predecessor to Westpac) in High Street, Wodonga. Shane Stone was employed briefly in the bank as a junior clerk and teller in training following his honourable discharge from the Australian Army. He successfully applied to the Victorian Department of Education to commence teacher training in 1970.
