Hughenden Irrigation Project

Hughenden Irrigation Project (HIPCO) laying of the foundation stone by Sir Leo Hielscher AC. A commemorative event to honour the funding commitment of the project. It is envisaged that the project can potentially capture up to 500,000 megalitres of water for agriculture. Sir Leo Hielscher AC a former Under Treasurer of QLD and Chairman of the Queensland Treasury Corporation Board is widely acknowledged as a champion of northern development.
