following the retirement of Shane Stone as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Extensive mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection of the correspondence has been included in the archives. Extract: ''...I was really sad to read that you had resigned as our Chief Minister. Although I did not always agree with your views I did agree with the majority and would like to thank you for all your fine work and for putting the Northern Territory more on the map''. Shane Stone replied May 5.
