Correspondence from Mrs Glenda Stripling, Chair, Standing Committee Country Liberal Women, following the retirement of Shane Stone as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Extensive mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection of the correspondence has been included in the archives. Extract: ''I would like to most sincerely thank you for your interest and support during your time as Chief Minister. Whilst women have always been large contributors within the Party, unfortunately, recognition and preselection have been left wanting. Your support has given women's issues a much needed higher profile...I would be pleased if you could also pass on our thanks to Josephine for her ongoing interest''. Shane Stone responded on May 6 including support for Denis Burke.
