Letter from the Honorary Consul General for Greece in Darwin

Correspondence from Mr John Anictomatis, Honorary Consul General for Greece, following the retirement of Shane Stone as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Extensive mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection of the correspondence has been included in the archives. Extract: ''I wrote to you as a Territorian with concerns for our future - your term in office has made a vast improvement to our lives, you have made the Northern Territory a better place for everyone. Your dynamic drive made all the difference to the way the Northern Territory was governed - you gave people confidence. All Territorians will pay a price for your departure...I take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done for the Northern Territory and our community in particular''.
