Letter from Commanding Officer HMAS Cerberus

Correspondence from CAPT David Horton RAN, CSC ADC, Commanding Officer HMAS Cerberus (formerly CO HMAS Coonawarra Darwin), following the election of Shane Stone as the Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Extensive congratulatory mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide following Shane Stone's election, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives. Extract: ''I believe your promotion. so well earned and deserved, heralds a new era for the Territory...''. On retirement from the Royal Australian Navy CAPT Horton was first appointed Official Secretary to the Administrator, Dr Neil Conn AO and subsequently Deputy Clerk of the NT Legislative Assembly until his retirement.
