Letter from the Cypriot Community of the Northern Territory

Correspondence from the President of the Cyprus Community of the Northern Territory, Mr Chris Themistocleous, following the election of Shane Stone as the Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Shane Stone as Ethnic Affairs Minister had a strong relationship with the Cypriot community dating from his time as Minister for Ethnic Affairs as is evident from many of the images and documents contained in the archives. He was ultimately made a Life Member of the Cyprus Community of the NT, the ultimate accolade from the Cypriots. Extensive congratulatory mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide following Shane Stone's election, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives.
