Letter from the Uniting Church Northern Synod

Correspondence from the Reverend A. Gale, the Uniting Church in Australia Northern Synod Secretary following Shane Stone's retirement as Chief Minister. Correspondence, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives. Writing on behalf of the Northern Synod (extract): ''I was requested to write to you and express on behalf of the Synod our thanks for the positive ways in which you assisted the church...Whilst there may have been matters about which conflicted opinions were held...Your openness to hear our point of view and willingness to support where you were able was greaty appreciated''. This was a welcome accolade. Shane Stone's response of 28 April is attached.
