Letter from Ezekiel Solomon

12 February 1999

Correspondence from Mr Ezekiel Solomon, partner, Allen Allen & Hemsley, solicitors and notaries, Sydney following Shane Stone's retirement as Chief Minister. Extensive mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide, hence, a small selection of the correspondence has been included in the archives. Extract: ''You can be justifiably proud of the achievements during your term of Government, particularly...in driving the important initiatives for the Darwin-Adelaide Railway and the development of the major gas-based projects. Your farsighted and passionate commitment to the development of the Territory's relations with Asia and your work in heightening the awareness of all Australians to the importance of Asia will also, I believe, be of lasting benefit to Australia generally, beyond the Territory itself''. Shane Stone's response of 29 April is attached.
