Correspondence from the President of the National Party of Australia branch in Wodonga Mr Rob Mulqueeny following the election of Shane Stone as the Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Shane Stone started his active political career as Secretary of the Wodonga Branch of the Victorian Country Party (former name of the National Party), at one stage the largest branch in Australia. Rob's father was Leo Mulqueeny was a friend and supporter of Les Stone. Shane Stone attended school with members of the Mulqueeney family. Extensive congratulatory mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide following Shane Stone's election, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives.
