Letter from the Acting Director of Naval Legal Services

Correspondence from the Acting Director of Naval Legal Services, Commander R.M.F Warner RAN, congratulating Shane Stone on his election as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Throughout his parliamentary career and subsequently Shane Stone remained an active reservist culminating in 43 years service. Defence was not always comfortable with a Head of Government in their ranks however Navy gave unequivocal support and encouragement at all times. Extensive congratulatory mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide following Shane Stone's election, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives.
