Correspondence from Senator Richard Alston, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, on Shane Stone's election as Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory. Richard aka 'Dick' Alson was a contemporary of Shane Stone at the Victorian Bar and former President of the Liberal Party, Victorian Division. Extensive congratulatory mail, fax and telephone messages were received from throughout the Territory and from Australia wide following Shane Stone's election, hence, a small selection has been included in the archives.
