Les and Shane Stone

Les and Shane Stone, Murray River, Wahgunyah on the Victoria New South Wales border, Murray River near All Saints Vineyard. At the time Les Stone was the Headmaster of the one teacher school at Cornishtown near Chiltern. He had struck up a friendship with then owner of All Saints winery, the Sutherland Smith family, who invited Les to teach the vineyard workers English in exchange of some wine. A number of the Italians stayed in contact including the Franscicine family who moved to Melbourne.
