Courtesy call by H.E Alan Taylor Australian Ambassador to Indonesia on Chief Minister Shane Stone, Parliament House, Darwin. Alan Taylor was twice appointed Australia's Ambassador to Indonesia. His other overseas postings included Papua New Guinea, Nigeria, Islamabad and Bangkok. His final assignment was as Director-General of the Australia Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) from 1998 to 2003. Alan passed away in 2007. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia. Throughout his DFAT career Alan Taylor was a strong advocate and supporter of the Northern Territory and his support and encouragement whilst Head of Mission in Thailand and Indonesia was invaluable. the Hon Eric Poole MLA Minister for Asian Relations & Trade, His Excellency Ambassador Alan Taylor and Chief Minister Shane Stone.
