Opening McArthur River Mine

The assembled audience, MIM representatives and Japanese partners, workers and traditional owners await the formal opening of the mine. See also the speech by the Prime Minister the Honourable Paul Keating MP in the Documents Archive. McArthur River Mine was the major project to emerge from the Federal Governments 'One Nation' program involving nation building infrastructure projects with the full support of the NT CLP Government.
