Recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia. The citation read: 'For service to the building and construction industry, and to the community'. Co-Founder and Owner, Halkitis Brothers Pty Ltd, (now known as the HB Group, a building and construction company), since 1960. President, Kalymnian Brotherhood Association Darwin, 1980-1988. Awards and recognition include inductee, Hall of Fame, Northern Territory Branch, Civil Contractors Federation, 2016. Award announced on Australia Day 2018.
