The Australian newspaper, Bill Leak cartoon

4 August 2016

The Bill Leak cartoon published in the Australian Newspaper prompted a national debate about freedom of speech and expression. Leak and The Australian newspaper were investigated for breaching section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act after the paper published his cartoon that depicted an Aboriginal man holding a beer can and unable to remember his son's name.
