Frank Alcorta Defence Honours and Awards Appeal Tribunal. Upgrade of bravery award to Medal for Gallantry, Battle of Long Tan, Vietnam. On 1 August, 2016 the Tribunal decided to recommend to the Minister that the decision of the Chief of Army to refuse to recommend Sergeant Francis Xavier Alcorta OAM for the Medal for Gallantry be set aside and substituted with a new decision to recommend Sergeant Francis Xavier Alcorta OAM for the Medal for Gallantry.
