The 2016 Republican National Convention held in Cleveland, Ohio July 18-21, 2016. Day 2 theme: The IDU sent a 108 strong delegation including representatives of the Federal Liberal Party and National Party of Australia. Day 2: International Republican Institute (IRI) Foreign Policy Forum - 'The Future of US National Security Policy'. Panel 2 'Peace Through Strength - The Necessity of the Best Equipped, Best-Led Military'. Moderated by Congressman Peter Roskam (Illinois's 6th congressional district. Currently serves as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight). Left to right Senator Joni Ernst (Senator from Iowa, the first woman to represent Iowa in the United States Congress and the first female veteran (Iraq War) from any state, to serve in the U.S. Senate), LtGen Michael T Flynn (served as the director of the Defence Intelligence Agency, commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and chair of the Military Intelligence Board. Emerged as one of several leading possible choices as vice presidential running mate for Republican nominee Donald Trump), and Senator Tom Cotton (Senator from Arkansas, is currently the youngest U.S. Senator. He completed one tour each in Iraq and Afghanistan).
