NT EXPO 1997 West Timor Delegation

The Northern Territory has a long history of interaction with West Timor and links between the capital Kupang and Darwin. Territory business people had historic investments in West Timor including Bruce and Marie Fadelli. Both later played an important role in the Australia Indonesia Business Council, NT Exporters Council and the NT Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Health and education links were also very strong with Kupang offering Indonesian language programs for Territorians. NT Minister for Asian Relations and Trade the Honourable Eric Poole MLA and leader of the West Timor Delegation. EXPO 97 International Pavilion named for former Chief Minister Marshall Perron.
