ANZAC Day 1998

The catafalque party marches on at the Darwin Cenotaph. The party consists of members of an armed guard who stand, their heads bowed and their arms (weapon) reversed, facing outward approximately one metre from the Cenotaph as a symbolic form of respect for those who have fallen. ANZAC Day Dawn service speech was delivered by HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh who was in Darwin for the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth Conference.
