Visit of Margaret Thatcher to Alice Springs

2 August 1988

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom the Right Honourable Margaret Thatcher MP during a visit to Alice Springs, Northern Territory of Australia was prevailed upon by the Honourable Roger Vale MLA Member for Braitling and Speaker of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly to sign a souvenir of her visit. Roger Vale was one of the Territory's most popular and hard working members of the Parliament and among other things was famous for his collection of political memorabilia.
