Asia Pacific Democratic Union (APDU), regional grouping within the International Democratic Union (IDU). Meeting in Sydney Australia 5 to 7 October 2006 hosted by the Federal Liberal Party of Australia. Democracy building and reform through the Australian Political Parties for Democracy Program formerly administered and audited by AusAID (Australia’s Overseas Aid Program) and now DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade). Brian Loughnane (Federal Director of the Liberal Party of Australia), Doug Kefford AO (Vice Chairman of APDU), Andrew Robb MP (former Federal Director Liberal Party of Australia) and Erik Kroiher, Head of the International Department of ÖVP - Österreichischer Volks - Partei - Austria).
