Asia Pacific Democratic Union (APDU), regional grouping within the International Democratic Union (IDU). Meeting in Sydney Australia 5 to 7 October 2006 hosted by the Federal Liberal Party of Australia. Democracy building and reform through the Australian Political Parties for Democracy Program formerly administered and audited by AusAID (Australia’s Overseas Aid Program) and now DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade). Hon Shane L. Stone AC, PGDK, QC, (Assistant Chairman of IDU and Immediate Past Federal President of Liberal Party of Australia), Chris McDiven (Federal President of the Liberal Party obscured and Brian Loughnane (Federal Director of the Liberal Party of Australia).
