Bill Curtain and Shane Stone with 'Lambie Pie'

Bill Curtain, 'Rudd' the sheep dog, Shane Stone and his pet 'Lambie Pie' at the 'Home Bush' farmhouse Indigo. Unfortunately 'Lambie Pie' ended up in a pie much to the horror and consternation of Shane. The connection between the Curtain and Stone families dated from when Les Stone was appointed the Head Master of the one teacher school at Cornishtown SS near Chiltern in 1951. He remained in Cornishtown with his wife Pam and son Shane until 1956 when he was transferred to Ariel Street (now Brockley Street) State School. The Stone Family made many friends in the area including the Curtains. As a child Shane spent much time at the Curtain family farm 'Home Bush' in the care of Julie and Bill Curtain. The couple was also the God Parents of Terry Michael Stone.
