Chief Ministers Reception to mark retirement of Eileen Cummings from the Department of the Chief Minister. Eileen responding to Chief Minister Stone's tribute and speech marking her farewell. Eileen Cummings was born in central Arnhem Land, and is a member of the ‘stolen generation’ having been taken as a young girl to Croker Island. Eileen was the first qualified Aboriginal teacher in the Territory. She also worked as a policy and liaison officer, an adult educator and a program manager. She dedicated much of her work and life to addressing Aboriginal community issues, particularly those related to alcohol and violence. She is also the mother of three children and a grandmother.
