EXPO 1995 Conference 'Unlocking the Business Potential' showcasing BIMP-EAGA. Delegates and speakers travelled from through the region to participate. Conference organised by the NT Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the active support and sponsorship of the NT Government. Tun Daim bin Zainuddin led a delegation from Malaysia. Tun Daim was Finance Minister of Malaysia from 1984-1991. Economic Advisor to the Government, Chairman of the Northern Growth Triangle, the Labuan Development Authority and the Langkawi development Authority and Treasurer of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the leading party in Malaysia’s ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (National Front). He was also Malaysia’s representative to the East Asean Growth Area (EAGA). Recalled to public service during the Asian financial crisis.
