Part of SOCSARGEN a region of the Philippines located in central Mindanao officially designated as Region XII. The name is an acronym that stands for the region's four Provinces and one of its cities: South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City. Minister Stone’s Delegation in 1993 was the first of an Australian Government. The city was reached by light Cessna aircraft over-flying rebel held territory.
