Following her husband Les Stone's premature death Pam Stone became an intrepid traveler including to China. Pam Stone was photographed inside the Forbidden City leading up to the main palace area, The Palace of Heavenly Purity or Qianqing Palace. It is the largest of the three halls of the Inner Court (the other two being the Hall of Union and the Palace of Earthly Tranquility, located at the northern end of the Forbidden City). During the Qing Dynasty, the palace often served as the Emperor's audience hall, where he held council with the Grand Council. At that time note the prevalence of the older generation in the crowd still wearing Mao suits. Pam's travel also coincided with the end of the Cultural Revolution which extended from 1966 to 1976.
