Miss Stone is the daughter of two lawyers – Mrs Josephine Stone AM and the Honourable Shane L Stone AC QC, former Chief Minister and Attorney General of the Northern Territory. Miss Stone holds the degrees of Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the Queensland University of Technology. As the current Associate to the Honourable Justice J E Reeves of the Federal Court of Australia, she is the second in her family to be a Federal Court Associate, her father having been the Associate to the Honourable Justice Sir Edward Woodward QC AC OBE. Miss Stone has completed the required practical legal training at the Australian National University; has complied in all respects with the rules relating to admission and holds the recommendation of the Board''.
