Investiture of the Vice Chancellor of James Cook University Professor Sandra Harding as an Officer in the Order of Australia. Pictured Mrs Josephine Stone AM, Mr Kevin Harding, Professor Sandra Harding AO and Chairman of the Order of Australia Council the Honourable Shane L Stone AC PGDK QC in attendance, at the Australia Day, 2019 Investitures held Friday, April 12. The Investitures are held in Government House Drawing Room, Canberra, commonly known as Yarralumla, the official residence of the Governor-General of Australia. The investitures were undertaken by His Excellency General The Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. Lady Cosgrove in attendance and co-hosted the Reception following. The photograph was taken in the Drawing Room Government House by Irene Dowdy of ID Photographics. Sandra Harding's citation read ''For distinguished service to education at the national and international level, and to the community of Queensland''. Josephine, Kevin, Sandra and Shane were in residence at John XXIIIrd College, the Australian National University in the mid-1970s.
