Letter from Darwin Branch CLP

15 August 2002

Correspondence from the Darwin Branch of the NT CLP described as unanimous. The letter was unsolicited but gratefully received by Shane and Josephine Stone. When the existence of the letter became known it prompted a rebuke from former Burke Government Minister Stephen Dunham. The branch was prevailed upon to withdraw the letter, they refused. Dunham subsequently lost his seat of Drysdale (considered comfortably safe) in the election that followed in 2005 with a massive 17.5% swing.
