Cornishtown Reunion

Bill Curtain (seated), Kevin Curtain (standing) and Terry Stone under the pepper corn tree that dated from the foundation of the school. The connection between the Curtain and Stone families dated from when Les Stone was appointed the Head Master of the one teacher school at Cornishtown SS near Chiltern in 1951. He remained in Cornishtown with his wife Pam and son Shane until 1956 when he was transferred to Ariel Street (now Brockley Street) State School. The Stone Family made many friends in the area including the Curtain's. As a child Shane spent much time at the Curtain family farm Homebush in the care of Julie and Bill Curtain. The couple were also the God Parents of Terry Michael Stone.
